Below is an overview of the events that take place during the year in the municipality of Acquasparta.

THE CARNIVAL OF CHILDREN
One of the most anticipated events of the year for adults and children is undoubtedly the parade of floats during the Carnival period. For three consecutive Sundays, the Carnival Authority makes allegorical wagons representing different subjects, above all the cartoons most loved by children, parade through the streets of the town.
Moreover, the streets of the village and the various squares are animated by live music and attractions for the little ones.

THE FEAST OF THE RENAISSANCE
The month of June, Acquasparta recalls the marriage of Duke Federico Cesi II, Prince of the Accademia dei Lincei, with his first wife Artemisia Colonna.
In the fifteen days of re-enactment, the three districts, San Cristoforo, Ghetto and Porta Vecchia, challenge each other with shots of Renaissance dishes, theatrical performances, the challenge of the drummers and the by now characteristic game of the goose.
Moreover, for the whole period, the three districts open their respective taverns where they can taste traditional dishes.
The festival, also rich in cultural events taking place in the Prince’s home, Palazzo Cesi, is inserted within the historic festivals recognized by the Umbria Region.

NOVEL WINE FESTIVAL
In November, in the period preceding the feast of the patron saint, the Taverna del Vino Novello is opened, where it is possible to taste the typical dishes of our territory and the first productions of new wine in the area.

CHRISTMAS IN ACQUASPARTA
From December 7th to January 6th, throughout the Christmas period, Acquasparta offers a series of inevitable appointments: markets, workshops, activities for the little ones and concerts in the various points of interest of the village.

Even the hamlets of the municipality offer interesting events during the course of the year.
In Portaria, for example, there are numerous events organized by the Pro Loco.

TAVERNA DEL PORCHETTO: in January, the year starts again with a tavern entirely dedicated to the pig that, traditionally, in our area, is killed in this period.

LUCREZIA BORGIA: on the second weekend of May the arrival of Lucrezia Borgia in the small village of Portaria is recalled, which took place in 1499

WILD ASPARAGIO FESTIVAL: In June, the great wild asparagus and the tasty dishes that are prepared thanks to this particular ingredient are the main protagonists.

FESTIVAL OF THRESHING: as happened in the most ancient times, even today portaria recalls the famous threshing festival in July, with a characteristic tavern.

FEAST OF SEPTEMBER: from the last week of August to the first of September the summer is greeted with a tavern characterized by the typical dishes of this period.

TAVERN FOR … BACCO: In November is the period dedicated to wine.

In Rosaro, in August, the small village is enlivened by a characteristic tavern dedicated to the typical dishes of Umbria and the ballroom dancing.
